Tree Removal

We promote the saving of trees whenever possible. Unfortunately, the removal of trees may become necessary. There are many reasons trees must be removed, such as new construction, overgrown trees encroaching on buildings, dead or dying trees and root damage to sewer and septic. All removals performed by JTS are handled with the greatest precision and care. Our highly trained team of arborists will all but eliminate the risk of damage to adjacent homes, trees and other structures. We use only the best ropes, rigging and advanced techniques to accomplish our goal. You can trust your property will be safe in our hands.

Tree Trimming

Trimming trees can be dangerous work for all involved. If trimming includes working on large trees, the experience, knowledge and specialized use of modern equipment is very important. Many factors must be considered before undertaking such a large project including; the safety of the person(s) trimming the tree, surrounding homes and properties, businesses’, automobiles, passers-by and adjacent power lines and poles. Our professional arborists carry all the necessary training, safety equipment, liability insurance and on-site experience to all but eliminate such hazardous risks.

Root Problems

Septic System
Tree root problems can occur around septic fields and sewer lines. Trees such as willow, maple, and elms should not be planted near a septic field. Tree roots can often be blamed for plugging and breaking pipes. Roots cannot exert enough pressure to crack a pipe yet natural settling, age, and wear cause pipes to crack therefore leaking pipes encourage roots to grow into the area and to penetrate through the cracks. As roots increase in size, cracks widen and breaks occur.

Cracked Sidewalks or Pavement
As roots increase in diameter they can crack or lift sidewalks, drives ways, and other paved surfaces. Severe pruning of tree roots can lead to major decline or tree death. The best solution is to select trees that are less likely to become a problem or to plant further away from paved surfaces.

Tree Stumps
Many trees such as willow, wild cherry, and maples, will resprout after they have been cut down. Sometimes sprouts will appear on roots near the soil surface. To prevent resprouting from surface roots or the main trunk, stumps of freshly cut trees should be treated with a brush killer or a 25 to 30 percent solution of Roundup, as soon as the tree is cut.

The stump of a cut tree can also be a problem. It can be removed by digging (difficult at best), burning (not recommended), or by hiring a tree company to grind out the stump. Some woods are very durable and may take years to rot. The length of time will vary with tree species, moisture, temperature, and size of the stump.

Deadwood Removal

Removing deadwood and weak or broken limbs down to two inches in diameter and/or two feet in length can have remarkable effects on the current and future health of your trees. Such limbs waste vital available nutrients that would otherwise feed and support healthy sections of the tree. A well “deadwooded” tree is appealing to the eyes, can dramatically decrease the costs of yearly landscape clean-ups and give you confidence to the safety of your family or customers, as the limbs are no longer breaking off and falling below. Proper "deadwooding" is indeed a win, win option for your property as a whole.

Clean Up

We pride ourselves on our complete clean-ups. Unless otherwise requested, we remove all limbs, brush, logs and debris associated with the removal of said tree. We do a detailed rake-up of all accessed property leaving only very small amounts of saw dust that is sure to disappear after the first few mowing and/or rainfalls. Any and all objects including planters, swings or recreational items needed to be moved for the job will be put back to their original location with no questions asked. All stump grinding debris will be back-filled and raked into a neat pile therefore eliminating the risk of injury caused by an open hole. Our goal here at JTS is simple; make your property cleaner than when we arrived.
